Romblon is composed of group of islands situated at the center of the Philippines. It lies South of Marinduque and Quezon, East of Mindoro, North of Aklan and Capiz and West of Masbate. It geographically belongs to Southern Luzon and completes the MIMAROPA group accompanied by Mindoro, Marinduque and Palawan.Romblon’s land area is 1,533.45 square kilometers with its highest elevation of 2,058m – the Mt. Guiting-Guiting.According to the latest Census, the province’s population is 283, 930.As an archipelago, Romblon is divided into islands namely, Tablas, Sibuyan, and Romblon, and 17 minor and small islands. Romblon Island is hilly while Tablas has various characteristics - western coastal areas are level to undulating while the eastern coastal areas are rough to rugged. The southern part has rolling to rough terrains. Meanwhile, Sibuyan Island is thickly forested.
