As the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) continuously conducting Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign to protect our Wildlife and Biodiversity, this activity radiates to the stakeholders which pushes the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) President of Odiongan National High School (ONHS) to inform the DENR office about a captured eagle.


On October 11, 2016, one (1) brahminy kite or “banog” in Romblon’s dialect was turned over to DENR PENRO Romblon by Mr. Sandy G. Fadri of Brgy. Dapawan, Odiongan, Romblon at around 9:30 in the morning. This was received by PENR Officer Maximo C. Landrito and witnessed by OIC Chief of TSD Engr. Alan L. Valle and Supervising EcoMS Gerardo B. Sabigan. According to Mr. Fadri, the eagle is about six month old and was given to him by a certain person.


On the next day, the eagle was checked up by a veterinarian and injected vitamins in preparation for its release. The eagle was brought to Brgy. Balogo, Calatrava, Romblon and with the assistance of EcoMS II Raymund G. Inocencio, the said eagle was released by PENR Officer Maximo C. Landrito and Hon. Juliet Sixon, Punong Barangay of Balogo, Calatrava, Romblon.
